Tom Critelli is president and co-founder of Danitom Development. Building homes and developing properties since 1992, Danitom prides itself on the close relationships it maintains with its customers - relationships personally cultivated by Mr. Critelli and his long-time friend and business partner, Mike Guerra. Mr. Critelli was president of the New Jersey Shore Builders Association (NJSBA) in 2004 and 2005. His most rewarding accomplishment during that time was spearheading the group’s collaboration with Habitat for Humanity to build a home in Freehold in 2005. Prior to becoming NJSBA president, he served terms as the organization’s vice president, secretary and treasurer.
Since graduating from Villanova University in 1982, Mr. Critelli has had a career that has been as diverse as it has been successful. A New Jersey Certified Public Accountant, he spent four years in the auditing department of Coopers & Lybrand, two years in the finance department of Emerson Radio Corp., and one year as an accounting manager for the Genlytc Group. Since 1989, he has been the owner and operator of Tom Critelli’s Sunoco in Jersey City. It is here that Mr. Critelli learned the importance of building relationships in the local community – a value he has brought to his work with Danitom, the NJSBA and the various volunteer organizations with which he is involved.
For more than a decade, Mr. Critelli has volunteered his time and services to help his hometown of Holmdel enhance its recreation programs. Since first coaching tee ball in the spring of 1995, he has coached youth baseball, softball and basketball for various age and skill levels. In 1999-2000, his company lent its building expertise - and donated its services - to help the Holmdel Youth Athletic Association (HYAA) build a new Little League Baseball field. In 2002, he accepted an appointment to the Cross Farms Park Advisory Committee, which was charged with developing a five-year plan to expand the township’s youth athletic fields for baseball, soccer and football, as well as passive recreation facilities, to accommodate Holmdel’s projected population growth. The committee submitted its report in 2003, and the town has successfully completed the first phase of the project. He also served as vice president of the HYAA from 2002-2004 and has been a trustee of the organization since September 2004.
Mr. Critelli serves as a Eucharistic minister and co-chairman of the Annual Family Picnic Committee for St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church in Holmdel.
Mr. Critelli and his wife, Mary, have been married for more than 20 years and have three children: Tommy, Danielle and Anthony. |
