Hamilton, NJ – Professionals seeking continuing education credits and certifications should look to the 61st Annual Atlantic Builders Convention (ABC). Taking place April 14-16, 2010 at the Atlantic City Convention Center in Atlantic City, NJ, the ABC is the Northeast’s largest building industry tradeshow. As in years past, required designations and continuing education credits will be offered for builders, planners, architects and attorneys, to name a few.

Information pertaining to these specific designations follows, along with links to each program and registration forms. For a complete list of accredited courses, visit http://abconvention.com/education.php.
The American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) Certification Maintenance (CM) program facilitates continuing education activities and events that provide CM credits which are approved by American Planning Association. The American Institute of Architects (AIA) requires continuous learning in order to maintain accreditation. The Atlantic Builders Convention will offer seven individual seminars that have been approved for AIA credit, including:

Most states, including New Jersey and Pennsylvania, require lawyers to take continuing legal education (CLE) courses in order to practice law. As of January 2010, NJ lawyers are required to complete 24 hours of CLE credits over a two-year period. There are ten courses being offered for CLE credits at this year’s Atlantic Builders Convention, as approved by the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board. Approvals are currently pending for the NJ Board on Continuing Legal Education.

US EPA Lead Certification Courses
Beginning April 22, 2010, remodelers and those who perform work for compensation on occupied houses, apartments, schools and daycares built prior to 1978 must comply with the US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) new rules regarding lead paint. One of the conditions for compliance is attending a course presented by an approved EPA instructor. Such a course will be presented on April 14 and again on April 15 at the Annual Atlantic Builders Convention. There is a fee for this course in addition to the ABC registration fee, and advanced registration is required. To register, go to http://abconvention.com/education.php.
