*** A3843 (McKeon) & S2283 (Vitale) – Requires health insurance and Medicaid coverage for testing and treatment of coronavirus. Passed Assembly 64-0, passed Senate 34-0 and signed into law on March 20 as P.L.2020, c.7.

***A3845 (Freiman) & S2284 (Cruz-Perez) – Authorizes EDA to provide grants during periods of emergency for the planning, designing, acquiring, constructing, reconstructing, improving, equipping, and furnishing of a project, including, but not limited to, grants for working capital and meeting payroll requirements. Also allows Grow New Jersey Assistance Program recipients two six-month extensions provided that the extensions are due to the economic disruption cause by the emergency. Passed Assembly 65-0, passed Senate 34-0 and signed into law on March 20 as P.L.2020, c.8.

***A3848 (Lopez) & S2301 (Weinberg) – Prohibits an employer from terminating or refusing to reinstate an employee if the employee requests or takes time off from work based on a recommendation from a medical professional that the employee take time off work because the employee has, or is likely to have, an infectious disease. Passed Assembly 65-0, passed Senate 34-0 and signed into law on March 20 as P.L.2020, c.9.

***A3850 (Murphy) & S2294 (Beach) – Allows public bodies to conduct meetings, and provide notice, by electronic means during periods of emergency. Passed Assembly 65-0, passed Senate 34-0 and signed into law on March 20 as P.L.2020, c.11.

***A3852 (Coughlin) & A2296 (Sweeney) –  Allows State business and legislative sessions to take place at locations other than Trenton and allows the Legislature to use any technology or electronic means to conduct its business, to carry out its purposes, or to comply with the requirements of certain provisions of the New Jersey Constitution during periods of emergency or other exigency. Passed Assembly 65-0, passed Senate 34-0 and signed into law on March 20 as P.L.2020, c.2.

***A3859 (McKnight) & S2276 (Cryan)­­ – Declares that no person shall be removed from a residential property as the result of an eviction or foreclosure during a public health emergency or a state of emergency. Passed Assembly 65-0, passed Senate 34-0 and signed into law on March 20 as P.L.2020, c.1.

A3841 (Pintor Marin) & S2300 (Diegnan) – Automatically extends to June 30 the deadline to file a NJ gross income tax or corporation business tax return if the federal government extends the filing or payment due date for federal returns. Passed Assembly 65-0, passed Senate 34-0 and awaits consideration from Governor Murphy.

A3846 (Sumter) & S2293 (Madden) – Creates the “Temporary Lost Wage Unemployment Program” to allow individuals affected by the coronavirus pandemic to recoup lost wages due to absence from work under certain circumstances and to assist employers who pay wages to workers who are ordered under quarantine by a licensed healthcare practitioner as a result of coronavirus. Passed Assembly 65-0, passed Senate 34-0 and awaits consideration from Governor Murphy.
