NJBA will host a special Codes Update Seminar on November 20th to help builders, developers and design professionals prepare for significant changes to New Jersey’s construction codes. On August 17, 2026, New Jersey adopted the latest generation of model codes, including the 2024 International Building Code, 2024 International Residential Code, updated mechanical, plumbing and fuel gas codes, the 2023 National Electrical Code, and new energy efficiency standards with a 6 month grace period. The new codes will be in effect February 17, 2027. With the State now in the transition period to these new requirements, our panel of experts will break down the most important changes, explain how they will affect residential and multifamily construction, and discuss practical implementation issues that builders and their project teams should be preparing for now. |
