NJBA Welcomes New Master Sponsor Wanna Window
February 20, 2026The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) adopted the 1,000+ page Protecting Against Climate Threats (PACT) Resilient Environments And Landscapes (REAL) rule in the January 20th NJ Register. The REAL rule drastically changes how DEP regulates tidal Flood Hazard Areas, Stormwater, Wetlands and much much more.
NJBA has been opposed aspects of the REAL rule since they were first introduced in September of 2020. Since then, NJBA has successfully fought for significant changes to the original proposal and with its coalition partners, obtained multiple delays to the rulemaking including the Notice Of Substantial Change in July. Crucially, the final rule adopted today will include a 6 month grandfathering period.
